The SGI Personal Iris was the predecessor to indigo. these systems were modular and easily configurable. the 4d20 and 4d25 systems were the earlier ones the 4D20 has a 12mhz processor and the 4d25 had a 20mhz processor. they have the main hdd plus expansion slots for two more devices. common were second HDD and a Tape drive. the 4d30 had a 32mhz processor and the 4d35 had a 35mhz processor. the data station shwon above was almost identical to the standard personal Iris's except for the logo on the door and the system had no video output. strictly console connections
